Environmental Impact Assessment
Assessments are carried out to determine the potential effects upon the water environment of planned developments ranging from small-scale building projects to large-scale quarry extensions.
A thorough understanding of the regulatory framework, together with first-hand experience gained over many years within the quarrying industry, allows targeted application of specialist expertise.
BCL have contributed towards successful resolution of numerous planning application and ROMP submissions. Project experience ranges from reviews undertaken for small sand and gravel operations of less than 100,00tpa, to planning applications for reserves exceeding 50mt.
All aspects of EIA work are undertaken, from initial desk study appraisal, field testing and monitoring, predictive assessment through to final reporting. A comprehensive range of skills are available from the application of simple analytical techniques to complex quantitative assessment, including groundwater flow modelling.
